As one of our stated goals from the Vestry retreat is to be more active in the community.
I want to suggest a community walk: Walk to Defeat ALS Bismarck, on June 18 at 10:00 am at Sertoma Park Shelter #8.
I have started a St. George’s Team for those interested (Wear your red St George’s t-shirt!).
If you are interested in participating, please let me know, and I would be happy to register you. However, if you want to register yourself, know that you have to create a one-time account that only registers you for the event (please still let me know if you register yourself, so I know who is included on our team). Contact the church at 223-1942 for my personal contact information.
The average fundraising is $90 – I set the bar at $100. Please bring your fundraising gifts (money) to the walk, and the organization will collect it there. All participants who raise $100 or more earn an official Walk to Defeat ALS t-shirt, and teams that raise $2,022 or more will receive an official Walk banner (thus the need to let me know if you are joining the team).
Please join other St. Georgians and me in this great cause to laugh, walk and enjoy the weather!
