Welcome to St George’s Episcopal Memorial Church. Our parish has been an important presence in the Bismarck community since 1880, and we continue to meet the Living God in this place today – through worship, education, outreach, and most of all, through the relationships we have created with each other.

OUR DIVINE PURPOSE STATEMENT

WE BELIEVE that through Jesus Christ we are meant to faithfully and joyfully serve God and our neighbors.
WE WORSHIP as a community of believers who make people feel welcome from every walk of life. We value and welcome the diversity of all people.
WE SERVE seekers inside and outside the church to live in accordance with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

All are WELCOME to join us!

Ministry Opportunities

There are currently many opportunities for getting involved in ministry, both at St George’s and the Diocese. Now is the time to join in a ministry or two you’ve always thought and prayed about joining. You will be blessed in the service of the Most High!

St George’s—(Tell me you’re interested)—Acolytes (including crucifers, torch bearers, thurifers, book-bearers, AND boat-bearers); Altar Guild; Choir; Cooking Club; Counters; Eucharistic (Ministers AND Visitors); Lectors; Spiritual Formation Leaders (Children, Youth, Young Adults, AND Adults); Committee (Finance, Outreach, Pastoral Care AND Receptions); Little Free Food Pantry; Nursery Helpers (>11 years old-with parent approval for those <16); “St George’s Parish News” editor; AND Ushers.

Diocesan level—(Elected by Diocesan Convention; October 11th & 12th, Radisson, Bismarck)

Four Lay Deputies to serve as General Convention Deputies AND Alternates (Baltimore, 2021); Standing Committee (one Lay Person to serve for a three-year term; AND by region of two representatives from the East AND two from the west to serve for a three-year term); Treasurer of the Diocese for a one-year term; North Dakota Episcopal Foundation; The Episcopal Foundation for Ministry in Higher Education

Committees (Constitution and Canons; Finance; Stewardship, AND Youth); Commission on Ministry; Episcopal Relief and Development Representative; AND Diocesan Council.

It’s my belief that we need to be MORE involved in the ministries of diocese because St George’s is the largest congregation in the western region of the diocese. The Holy Spirit is alive and well in our faith community! We must share what the Holy Spirit is up to in our congregation as we strive to meet our potential. We also have the faith and passion to lead and mentor other congregations to reach their potential. –Canon Hal
