Welcome to St George’s Episcopal Memorial Church! Our parish has been an important presence in the Bismarck community since 1880, and we continue to meet the Living God in this place today – through worship, education, outreach, and most of all, through the relationships we have created with each other.

Summer Book Study at St. George’s

Warning! There is strong language in this book.

We will discuss the New York Times bestseller book entitled “Recovery – Freedom from Our Addictions“, Steps 1 to 3, in June and will decide on two more meeting dates to complete the book in July/August.  This book emphasizes the many unhealthy habits we all use to cover up our unfulfilled lives. A goal for St. George’s in 2022 was to develop more participation in our annual recovery service that is held in the fall. The annual Recovery Worship Service is based on the 12 steps and is a deeply moving service.  I encourage you to get the book, read it or listen to it, even if you don’t want to be part of the discussion.  Contact Deacon Beth Lipp, through the church at 223-1942 (or through her personal contact) to let us know you plan to participate. *Future dates to meet will be set on June 20th.

A NO – B.S. PROGRAM TO CONQUER All.  – US Weekly

A note from the author- Russell Brand – My qualifications for writing this book is not that I am better than you; it’s that I am worse.  I am an addict – addicted to drugs, alcohol, sex, money, love and fame.  This is an age of addiction, a condition so endemic, so all-encompassing and ubiquitous that unless you are fortunate enough to be an extreme case, you probably don’t know that you have it.  What unhealthy habits and attachments are holding your life together?  Are you unconsciously dependent on food? Bad Relationships?  A job that doesn’t fulfill you?  Are you numb, constantly perusing your phone, looking for what? The program in this book has given me freedom from all addictions and it will do the same for you.
